Fall is the season for all things hygge! I have started to embrace the fall weather more and more each year. In the foothills of North Carolina, yellow leaves are starting to flutter off trees, the mornings are a little cooler, and soon, it will be time to sit around the fire pits with family and friends at night.
It is more natural to slow down and pull out our favorite throw blanket or cozy sweater in the mornings as it gets cooler. The hustle of summer vacations and activities has slowed into a routine that offers opportunities for moments of reflection and gratitude.
Firelight and candles are hallmarks of cozy spaces and moments in our home. On fall mornings, I find myself cuddled into a sweater with a candle lit nearby as I write in my journal. I have found a special beauty in waking up before everyone else and watching the sunrise with my coffee.
To help others enter their quiet moments, I have found some beautiful items for journaling and the most delicious-smelling candles. Over the next couple of weeks, I will add new products online for you to consider adding to your collection. Here are a sample of new products to help comfort you as the days turn cooler.

The Calm Joy Candle Co. was started by a mental health therapist named Simone, whose mission is to bring calming and joyful scents to the marketplace. Her candles are toxin-free and hand-poured with sustainable, vegan wax. She makes candles as an act of love, wishing for others to find moments to enter joy in their lives.

One of my greatest joys is snuggling on the couch with a plush throw. I have had a couple of couch throws since I was a teenager, which shows how much I enjoy them. And since I know the importance of a good throw, I am excited to bring you the Plush Wavy Turkish Throw from the weavers at Slate + Salt.
Slate + Salt is a fair trade organization that partners with makers worldwide. These Turkish throws are loomed by small, family-owned shops in the Denizili region of Turkey. Weaving is the main source of income for the weavers, who pride themselves on keeping the looming tradition alive. The materials are 100% natural and made of cotton and bamboo.
I am so grateful to work with such amazing makers worldwide. When you bring these items to your home, I hope you will find them just what you need to relax into moments of joy and quiet. They will be on our shop webpage soon for you to purchase.
